Ash Dykes est devenu la première personne à traverser la Mongolie en solo et sans soutien en 2014. Il a parcouru une distance de plus de 2’400km en 78 jours, transportant tout ce dont il avait besoin pour survivre. En 2016, il a battu un autre record du monde en traversant Madagascar, tout en franchissant les sommets des montagnes les plus hautes de l’île. Il lui aura fallu 155 jours pour compléter les plus de 2’500km qui l’auront forcé à puiser jusqu’au bout de ses réserves physiques et mentales lorsqu’il a contracté la forme la plus mortelle de la Malaria.

À partir de juillet 2018, la nouvelle expédition de Ash Dykes va l’emmener au long du fleuve Yangzi Jiang (ou Yang-Tsé). Il sera le premier à parcourir les 6’500km du fleuve, en partant dans des températures glaciales à la source qui se trouve sur le glacier Jiang Gendiru sur le plateau tibétain et en arrivant dans un environnement plus tropical au delta du fleuve près de Shanghai. L’expédition qui va durer environ 1 année promet d’être intense.

Exploits :

* First recorded person to walk the entire length of the Yangtze River (4000 miles – 352 days).

* First recorded person to traverse Madagascar’s length, through its interior taking on eight of the highest mountains on the fourth largest island in the world, trekking 1,600 miles in 155 days (2016).

* First recorded person to complete a solo & unsupported walk across Mongolia (2014).

* Cycling Cambodia & the length of Vietnam (1130 miles – 15 days, on £10 bikes). 

* Trekking the Himalayas in North India.

* Cycling a part of Australia (700 miles – 13 days).

* Escaping the outback’s of Australia after a nasty break down in the wild.

* He learnt how to survive in the jungle with a Burmese Hill Tribe.

* Cycled the length of Britain for charity (985 miles – 7days). 

* Walked 200 miles across Wales in the dead of winter.

* Trekked alone through the Alps during winter & was just missed by a landslide.

* Worked as a scuba diving instructor for two years in Thailand.

* Trained & competed against the locals, in the local martial art of Muay Thai (Thai Kickboxing).
